AFG Group Returns to South and West Wales Following Seasonal Bird Nesting Pause
Following a short seasonal pause to our vegetation management projects across Wales, AFG Group is pleased to confirm the return of our operational teams to sites across South and West Wales, where we are continuing works for one of our valued clients.
The temporary pause was introduced as part of our commitment to responsible environmental management during the bird nesting and breeding season. This period is particularly important for wildlife, as vegetation across rail corridors, woodland, embankments and other areas can provide essential nesting and shelter for a wide variety of bird species.
Working Responsibly During Bird Nesting Season
Bird nesting activity can occur across a wide range of habitats, including trees, hedgerows, scrub, grassland and dense vegetation. While the main nesting period is generally considered to run from March through to August, nesting activity can occur outside these dates depending on weather conditions, habitat and individual bird species.
For this reason, vegetation management cannot simply be based on calendar dates. Before work takes place, appropriate environmental considerations and site-specific controls must be taken into account to identify and protect active nests where required.
At AFG Group, we recognise the importance of balancing essential vegetation management with our responsibility to protect the surrounding environment. Where works are required during periods of increased nesting activity, our teams follow the appropriate procedures, including environmental checks and restrictions where necessary.
