The Role
We are seeking motivated and hardworking Grounds Operatives to join our rail sector team. This is a hands-on role, carrying out vegetation clearance, grounds maintenance, and environmental works along rail infrastructure. You will work outdoors in all weather conditions, as part of a skilled and safety-conscious team.
Key Responsibilities:
Vegetation clearance, grass cutting, hedge trimming, and tree removal around rail infrastructure.
Safe use of machinery and equipment (strimmers, brush cutters, chainsaws, etc.).
Assisting with site preparation, debris removal, and waste management.
Maintaining high standards of health and safety in line with Network Rail requirements.
Supporting the site supervisor and team in delivering projects to agreed deadlines.
Requirements:
Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or vegetation management (preferred).
PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification – training can be provided for the right candidate.
Chainsaw and brush cutter certification (desirable).
Good physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in all conditions.
Ability to work away from home when required.
Full UK driving licence preferred.
