AFG Group are specialists in forestry, vegetation management, arboriculture, and fencing within the rail and utilities sectors. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Tree Climber to join our growing team.

About the Role
As a Tree Climber at AFG Group, you will carry out a wide range of arboricultural tasks, including tree climbing, pruning, dismantling, and felling, while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest professional standards. You’ll work as part of a close-knit, safety-focused team, often on rail and utilities projects where precision and compliance are key.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake tree climbing operations using modern arboricultural techniques.

• Carry out pruning, crown reduction, felling, and dismantling in line with industry standards.

• Operate chainsaws, rigging equipment, and other specialist tools safely.

• Work in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

• Maintain tools and equipment to a high standard.

• Support ground staff and ensure safe site operations at all times.

Requirements

• Relevant NPTC/LANTRA qualifications (CS30, CS31, CS38, CS39 minimum).

• Proven experience in tree climbing and aerial rescue.

• A strong commitment to health & safety.

• Ability to work as part of a team in all weather conditions.

• Full UK driving licence (preferred).

• PTS (Personal Track Safety) or utility sector experience is desirable but not essential — training can be provided.
